Mining Simulators

Main Functions of the Simulator

  • Driving and operation of the machine are carried out in a carefully designed mine to perform all the necessary exercises. Precise simulation of the machine's transmission.
  • Design and implementation of Softpanel that allows full control of the machine using the PC mouse.
  • Information window with the status and position of the machinery and operating commands.
  • Load-dependent machine response. Dynamic avatars.
  • On-screen information for both the user and the instructor.
  • Accurate simulation of the machine's transmission.
  • Real Procedure for Start-up and Shutdown.

Instructional design.

Simulator with exercise blocks that increase in difficulty, records student errors and grades, generates reports with statistics, graphs, and exercise evaluation. Results are automatically saved for autonomous progress.

The Simulator recreates construction work conditions and has instruction and evaluation systems. The objective is rapid and quality learning, giving equal or greater importance to the subsystems.

Evaluation system

The evaluation system includes a post-analysis tool that allows automatic repetition of exercises, with options to advance, pause, rewind, and alter playback to show different views of the scene. It is useful for the instructor to teach the students and provide feedback on the errors and successes achieved.

– Logbook of accelerations, with record of dangerous accelerations, machinery overload, and graphical plots.

– Records of speed and graphical diagrams of speeds. Record of maximum speeds.

– General course information with completed exercises, average student performance.

– Record of collisions, with record of collision speeds and strong collisions.

– Graphical representation of trajectories of spreader, hook, vehicle, etc

-Recording of dangerous or prohibited maneuvers during the simulation.

– Date, time, and duration information per exercise.

– Translation: Evolution over time, acquired skills, etc.

Simulation system

Instructional systems are highly customizable through hardware and software configuration via menus. System administrators can modify the functionalities of buttons, switches, joysticks, and lights according to their needs.

The configuration of the simulators is saved in a file and restored automatically when they are turned on. Multiple configurations can be stored, ensuring system scalability and update capability.

If a new HID DAQ board is added, it will be recognized and its inputs can be configured. It is also possible to reassign the functionality of a broken button or switch to a less important one through the software panel.

Virtual reality

The simulator can be used with virtual reality glasses and physical controls for greater immersion. The head motion compensation system allows its use on a motion platform to simulate high-speed vehicles without causing motion sickness. The configuration of each simulator is saved in a file and restored automatically.

Multiple configurations can be stored to ensure system scalability and update capability. The tool allows recognition and configuration of new HID DAQ boards and reassignment of the functionality of broken controls to less important ones.
